Seven Hours In Seoul

Leaving Osaka our journey home took a step backward as we headed southwest for a seven hour layover in Seoul, Korea. Although we did leave the airport we didn't stray too far and, in fact, never made it into Seoul which is a 45 minute metro ride away. Instead our mission was to see as much of one of the world's best airports that we could jam into the few hours we had to spare. So here are a few photos of how we spent our time at the Incheon Airport.

Lunch At The Hyatt
Dropped 10,000 Won On The Slots
Took A Bus To See The Sights Of The Airport's Island
Working On My Swing... A Bit Rusty
"Ice" Skating (It's Actually A Plastic Rink In A Really Hot Terminal - Not Fun)
Much Needed Showers
Checking Out Some Of The Cultural Exhibits
Free Fan Painting!
Hello Kitty. Need We Say More?

We just scratched the surface of all the things you can do at the airport missing: catching a flick at the cinema, free massage chairs, awesome sleeping areas, free computers, more cultural presentations, enough shopping and food to keep you going for days, and more I'm sure. Pretty cool spot. I still think Vancouver's airport is more beautiful though.

Obviously Seoul was just a quick stopover on our route home. The next leg of our flight brought us, rather conveniently, to Honolulu. I think it's fair to say that it's a bit of a stretch to call our multi-day stop here a stopover but that's what we're going with. Continuing in our exploration mode we're starting in Oahu before shifting to the Big Island to spend a few days recuperating before heading home. It's nice to be here but not as nice as it will be to touch down in Vancouver.

We're not going to blog about Hawaii but we will send out at least one more post to wrap things up. For now, aloha from the Islands!
